Mommy's Tired...Fayth Gets A Sink Bath!!

I just have to post these. They are too funny!!

Last night as Jill & Steve were placing final items in their luggage...Fayth REALLY needed a bath and I was not in the mood for a REAL bath...Jon was busy tidying up the house. SO, she got her first "sink" bath in Dubai! Enjoy the photos...I am still laughing!!

You may be thinking she is a little big for the sink, HOWEVER; she had so much fun and got a clean "butt" out of the deal!!

Getting Ready to Leave

All packed, filled bellies, and flights on time! Jill and Steve left last night around midnight. Jon took them to the airport around 9:00 and they are on there way home to see their daughter, Samantha! They missed her very much even though they got to see her on Skype quite a bit! We had good time with them and are happy they made the trip to see us. I must say, I am EXHAUSTED from all the fun and need a day or two to recuperate. It's a lot to be a host or hostess for a week. We were busy busy all the time but I think they got a real good "tour" and "taste" of Dubai! Not to mention, Jon and I got to see and do some new things we hadn't experienced either!

Fayth really enjoyed having them stay as well. I think she is sad they left. She has "something" for Steve!! She even made Steve come see her "poopie" in the potty!! It was hysterical. And all week long she'd say, "Steve...where's Steve?" So cute!

We will never forget the week we got to spend with them!! Thanks GUYS...it was fun!!

Now, off to BED...it's 11:30 am and I'm going to take a nap!!

Last Night Out...

On Wednesday we got a babysitter for Fayth and headed out! Yes, we were exhausted after the water park but it was Jill & Steve's last night in Dubai. We went for dinner at "The Noodle House." It is at my favorite place, Madinat Jumeirah. We have been there with some friends and loved it!! Not to mention, "Voucher/Coupon Suzanne" had buy two meals get two free!! We have purchased the "Entertainer"...just the the Entertainment book back home, for $85.00 US and it has SAVED us and our guests a ton of money!! We used it the whole week for the water park, dinners, dune bashing, and ice cream. It is really a good deal!!

We walked around the souk, at Madinat Jumeirah, for a little bit, had a late dinner, took a few photos outside and then headed towards home. The guys "pooped out" on us but I really wanted to take Jill to THE ADDRESS HOTEL. It is just stunning inside and out!! We went up to the 64th floor, Neo's bar, and took some photos. Then we headed to the bathroom...I LOVE THE CHANDELIERS...in this bathroom. One of Jon's friends here is finding out where they are from...not like we will be able to afford one...but a girl can always dream!! Then, Jill and I went outside to the Calabar and had a latte. It was comfy cosy outside in the bean bag chairs and a nice way to wind down from our CRAZY day!!

We Made the Magazine...

What are the chances!!??!! AHLAN! magazine had a studio for a photo opt. It was jammed packed all day & night long. You could go and get you photo taken and hope to be published!! There were husbands and wives, girlfriends, silly poses, fake poses, and even an engagement! You just showed up and said "Cheese!" Well, our "silly" pose got us in!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Oh, lordy...we're famous!! We are on the second page of THE AHLAN STUDIO 2009! We are the upper right-hand corner and it even has our names. Of course, we are acting goofy...what else is new? Oh, wait until Jon comes home tonight to see this!! He goes to the races for the horses and me...well... the fashion, beverages, and to be PUBLISHED!! he he he!! Too funny!!

Aquaventure at the Atlantis!!

On Wednesday, Jon took the day off, and we loaded up on sunscreen and headed to the Palm Jumeirah. Water meets wonder at the Atlantis resort on the Palm. It is a "mammoth" place with a HUGE water park. We got passes for the water park and hit the slides!! We raced down slides through shark-filled waters, took on the waves of the torrent, and three of us (Jon said no way in H*&&) did the vertical "leap of faith!"...90 feet high... All I have to say is, Oh, my!! Didn't lose our tops but about crapped our pants!! It was an amazing view up on the top of the Ziggurat and Jill got some great photos. Fayth enjoyed meeting and holding a falcon. She kept saying, "bye birdie" and didn't want to leave him. Then she blew kisses to the fishes and sharks and said, "bye bye...be back later." It was an overcast day and perfect weather for the water park. We stayed six hours and Fayth was such a good girl. She didn't take a nap and was perfect the whole time. We weren't in the car 30 seconds on our way home and she passed out. I can't wait to go back...we need to save our dirhams though, it is quite an expensive day out!

More Good Times!!

After Fayth's Easter Program I met up with Jill & Steve at Souk Al Bahar. We had a late breakfast at Shakespeare and Company. It was delicious! Then we scooped up Fayth from school and came home. Jill & Steve headed to the pool for a few hours of relaxation before their "Dune Bashing" Safari! At 4:00 they got picked up and headed out of Dubai to see the beautiful sand dunes. Steve did some sand surfing, they rode a camel, they smoked some cherry "hubbly bubbly", watched a belly dancer and enjoyed an authentic Arabic BBQ. It's a 'must' do adventure when you come to Dubai. They really had a super time!
