4th of July in Dubai

We had to do "something!" Usually, it's a parade with Ben & Chloe dressed in red, white, and blue on their bikes throwing out candy looking too stinkin cute, Gammy taking a million photos and enjoying her whole family together, the "boys" drinking bloody mary's at 10:30 in the morning, Papa Dick holding a crying little lady (aka...Fayth...she hates the fire engines) and then a big bash at the Grass Lake house with brats, beer, hotdogs, pasta salad, deviled eggs (Jon and Jill fighting over them), potato salad, baked beans, fruit salad, and the list goes on and on!! It also includes jet ski rides, boat rides, digging in the sand, doing sparklers, smores late at night, and Jim walking around with his pitching wedge "Big Tex"...tending the fire with it, swinging it, and drinking too much beer with it. It truly is a wonderful holiday back home!! So, how did we celebrate??? Hot dogs on the stove, corn, pasta salad (thanks to Robin we had "salad supreme" delivered to Dubai for a true pasta salad), and homemade mashed potatoes and gravy!! Then, we gave a little lady a shower and put her in a 4th dress...handed down from Lori...(which is also quite appropriate since we spend the 4th with her family as well) and took a few festive photos!! Dolly even has a dress on that is RED...another one handed down from Miss Chloe!! That's it...a 4th of July "Dubai style!"
