New "Digs" for the Motorcycle Ride!!

You have to look the part, right?? Well, today when we hit the playarea Fayth had on her new shoes that I bought for her birthday (fat chance I could hold them back until then)!!! I just picked them up this morning, while she was at school, and couldn't resist!! Anyway, it was her lucky day cuz her "boyfriend" was digging them too and took her for a ride on his motorcycle. I took the camera cuz of the new shoes...little did I know the playarea was going to be a photo shoot!! Anyone listening or looking out from their balcony this afternoon were thinking to themselves...those two moms are physco and need HELP!!!!!!! All that work just for a damn PHOTO?? Oh, well...I say, it was worth every second of us acting like idiots to get these two monkeys to LOOK at the same time!!!!

Crafts, Paper Dolls, and more...

CRAFTS!!!!!! This is what we've been busy doing since our return from Christmas in Chicago. Who thought is would be great to give these wonderful gifts that "keep mommies busy??" Gramie of course!! We've punched out dolls, dressed them up, redressed them, made princess games, painted princess crafts, ironed magic beads, made key chains, created jeweled wands, tiaras, hanging signs, and the list goes on and on!!!!!!! Who signed up for ALL this work...??? YES, me...a mommy that loves to stay home!!!!!! Who LOVES doing all this, Fayth of course!! However; I'm on "hiatus" from the paper dolls for a bit...I started to lose my patience!! ME...No...not ME!! Idea Gramie...DVD's are sounding like a wonderful gift about now...a gift that keeps on giving!! She LOVES her Rapunzel one and so do I!! The couch never felt so good!!

Cello Kids Nursery School...

Term 2 of preschool, just started a few weeks ago, and I needed a photo for my scrapbooking, of course!! So, today was the day!! We don't have the new uniforms yet so she gets to wear her everyday clothes!! My goodness she looks old!! We just received her progress report card and she did really well. We have a few things to work on, mainly gross motor...riding a bike & jumping on one leg without holding onto anything. The only other area is the intellectual/cognitive area... not getting frustrated when she can't do something right away...she gets a little frustrated at times (must get this from her daddy, he he)!! Other than that, the VERY detailed report, four pages in all, was WONDERFUL...she is doing great academically and is social in a GOOD way!! Her teachers hand written comment was something like, "Always a helper and eager to participate and learn. She tries hard with her work tasks" YIPPEE...we are proud of her!!

Dress My Nest...

Divine Design, Mission Organized, Decorating Cents...I pretended I was on one of these today and REARRANGED Fayth's room!! We live in an apartment and it's starting to get filled with "stuff"...Barbies, Dress-up, Crafts, Paints, Baby Dolls & clothes, Stuffed Animals, Magnetic dolls, and the list goes on and on!! The OCD person, in me, is starting to go CRAZY!! I have Pottery Barn bins on the way in Gammy's next box and can't wait!! Just like a home gets filled...this apartment is FILLED and we are busting at the seams!! I even took a load to preschool today and donated some of Fayth's old toys and rollie lady bug (so sad to see that go) but we just had to. Her birthday is right around the corner and then we'll have even more!!
We've also moved her back to her toddler bed as of today...thinking smaller is maybe more "safe & secure" and will help her sleep her THROUGH the night. We've had some dramas with night waking and are trying everything and anything!! I've also told her I don't want to see her until "Mr. Sun" comes out!! Fingers are crossed!!

Spinney's Market

I talk about it all the time so today I decided to take some photos while picking up a few items for dinner. It is located between tower 1 and 2 in our complex. It's about a football field away from our tower...not even!! It's about the size of a Seven 11 and has a ton of fresh produce, freshly baked goods, a dairy section, and everything else a normal grocery store would carry. It is super convenient and so handy to have so close by. Of course, it costs more for the convenience but it's perfect in our situation. It's a nice afternoon walk to pick up a few items or even a treat. We find ourselves going there every few days to pick up at least milk, ice, and rolls for a little person!! So, that's Spinney's Market! Now you have a visual. YES...I know...kinda cheesy that I took the camera to the store but I thought it would make for an interesting blog!! Did it??!!

Ponytail Day...

Actually the conversation went like this..."Mom, can you do my hair like Miss Kristy?" Oh, lordy...I about died!! Yes, she LOVES her teacher and evidently wants hair like hers too!! How cute is that!! Now I see how these little girls can look up to their girly teachers!! I get it now as I remember back to so many similar stories from parents. The moment just made me smile today!! So, I said, "What do you mean, like how?" And she started pulling it all back..."I said, Oh, in a ponytail?" "YES!" that was the way she wanted it!! No problem "modeling" for these photos today! She wore it loud and proud. She was even looking at her reflection in the windows!

You know You're...

in Dubai when you go to a regular doctor's appointment on a Saturday night at 7:15. No, not the ER...just a plain, old doctor's appointment. YEP...just got home, with Fayth, from seeing an ENT for her "gunkie ears!" She has a little wax buildup that they will be removing on Wednesday. So, how crazy is that??!! Our US doctors, unless in the ER or on-call, are enjoying a cocktail or two and dinner or a movie with their family on a Saturday night. Here...the waiting room was PACKED...precisely on time, and the doctor was a pleasure to deal with! Refreshing...and perfect for us since we share an automobile!! Thanks Medcare...you've done it right!!

No...Not an Ad

for Vera Bradley!! However; I JUST love this stuff!! I sent a subtle hint (not really subtle) to Jill, my sis-in-law, for my birthday that I was in desperate need of the VB super tote in pink cupcakes!! Well, ask and you shall receive!! Then, I decided I need a few matching items. Gotta love the Internet. You see...we are constantly on the go and I wanted a tote to grab and go in a hurry. Kinda like you keep a diaper bag packed...we needed "an outing" bag packed. One with suntan lotions (many different kinds and SPFs), extra undies & wipes (no, not for me), snacks, a few books & toys, and a small cooler for waters, juice boxes and sodas. So, now we have it...ready to go to the beach, the park, a playdate, or anywhere else in Dubai!! The best part about Vera Bradley...it can go in the wash. No need to fret when Fayth's water bottle leaks, or the suntan lotion "poops" out everywhere, or when the sand is in all the crevices...just throw it in the wash!!
SO, if you are in need of any kind of tote or bag...I HIGHLY recommend this stuff!! They have a great website and if you sign up to be on their mailing list...you get great offers, via email, all the time.

A Package from Gammy...

consisted of...some left over Xmas loot that couldn't quite fit in our suitcases, some Vera Bradley I HAD to order, Christmas photos from Walgreen's, SUPERSIZE SEVEN 11 WWF cups for a certain person that drinks a huge amount of diet soda and LOVES these stupid cups, and YIPPEE...some new coloring books and candy necklaces & bracelets!! The later items were a HUGE hit for both Fayth and Ry Ry since he happened to be at our home, for a playdate, when we opened the box!! The kids cut into the candy ASAP and RY RY was taught (by a professional candy bracelet lover...no not a little person a big person) how to eat one. He was hysterical and had dried white candy all over his mouth when his parents arrived to pick him up!! He he...the hits just keep getting better & better...dress-up, high heels that light up, and now candy bracelets. Glenn, Ry Ry's dad, is really going to stop allowing him to come over for playdates!! Everything in this house is feminine!!!Anywhooooo...Thanks Gammy...the coloring books and candy were a big hit!!

3 Ballerinas

Last night, I was getting my photos organized back in my "scrapbook room" and Fayth was looking through my albums. The next thing I knew she was long gone and having a conversation with daddy to dress her dollies. She came back, decked out in her AG ballerina outfit, joined by baby and Sophie. She saw a photo in the album & had to go dress-up immediately. Thanks to Chloe, and her Bitty Baby hand-me-downs at X-mas, Sophie doll was able to have a ballerina outfit, too!! Fayth didn't want to leave either of them out!! They all looked so cute together. They danced a bit and then pooped out and watched TV.
I'm actually looking into ballet lessons as we speak. Hoping to get her in somewhere next term. It's just hard without an automobile, to sign up for lessons 1/2 way across town, unless it's on a weekend. I'll keep ya posted!
