Yesterday afternoon, Fayth headed to Ry Ry's for an overnight and we took a taxi to the 7 Star Hotel, The Burj Al Arab, for afternoon tea. It was so much fun. Truthfully, I must say, it is a beautiful icon from the outside, but a bit Vegas Style' inside!! It's a MUST DO if visiting Dubai!! Tom, RuthAnne and I had a great time and good laughs. They said it was a "for sure" favorite of theirs and so happy they got the chance to see it!! The tea is at the top of the hotel in the SkyView bar and there are floor to ceiling windows. You feel like you are sitting out in the middle of the ocean...which in actuality you are on a man made peninsula. We were there from 3:30- 6:30 and got to watch the sunset, see the strip lit up at night, and enjoy the great food & drinks! The best view...you get to see the "Fronds" or more my lingo the "leaves" of the Palm Jumeirah. After our tea, we headed a block away to the Madinat Jumeirah souk where Jon met up with us. We shopped all the stores while the guys enjoyed some cocktails at Trader Vics. We were suppose to have a nice dinner out but we were so FULL from the tea and Jon had also eaten a late (on-the-go) lunch we just shopped and drank instead!! We came back to the apartment and "shot the SH**" for a few hours and decided we better go to bed by 12:30!! I had Fayth to pick up at 6:00 am this morning and get ready for Halloween at preschool.
Fayth had her first overnight in Dubai thanks to KellyAnne and Glenn...and YES...unless they are lying...all went well. I bribed Fayth that if I got an honest good report for KA we could head to Hello Kitty and she could have whatever she'd like. Looks like we're off to the store this weekend!
