Cakes A'Plenty, Cakes Galore!!

There are hundreds to choose from and one is cuter than the next. Everytime we go scrapbooking we see "fake" models of cakes in glass cabinets since the bakery shares space with the scrapbooking store. Well, as we were chatting, we decided it may be fun to treat our little darlings to a special cake for their birthday's next year. As we were checking out yesterday, we asked if we could see a brochure with pictures & prices for the cake shop. I happened to love the Hello Kitty or Dora cake so I specifically asked for a price on those two. Well, one was 152.00 US and the other was 208.00 US!! Needless to say, Miss Fancy Pants Fayth will be having a homemade "Barbie doll dress" cake made BY ME with the help of KellyAnne!!

Now this is where the story gets great...the lady behind the counter was showing us various ones online and then she came to the "BIG KAHUNA" as I would call it. It was Mickey Mouse and the Disney Theme Park...(about the size of a coffee table) She said it was made for 4 yr. old twins, ordered by a local (that's the key), and delivered to Abu Dhabi. So, my dear friend KellyAnne, who I just love so much says, "Yeah and how much was that one??!!" The lady with a straight face said, "It was 4000 AED or 1111.00 US," and all of our jaws dropped...there was a moment of silence in the room...she was in shock by our reaction and said, "Well, everything is edible" and KellyAnne piped up and said, "Bloody Hell, I don't care if it's edible or even sings for that price!" "That is ridiculous!" At this point, I am laughing so hard I am trying not to pee myself!!

And this is why I LOVE her so much!!!

Moral of the story...our little darlings, all of them, will NOT be getting any cakes from there for their birthdays!!!
