Crusin' Dubai...

My galpal and I are "with car" and fancy free!!! We plan to explore and cruise around town all week!! This afternoon, after nap, we wasted no time & headed straight to the beach for some fun at the playground on the beach!!! Yes, I took my camera...and glad I did...got some cute ones and Fayth even got one of me. She has been given the gift...I am centered and it's not of just my head or feet. After a few hours we strolled, by foot, down Beach Road to find the FAMOUS bakery called "Sugar Daddy's." It's known for it's cupcakes and I've wanted to try it out since we moved here. I read about it all the time. Well, there's no better time than tomorrow, right?? Valentine's Day!! Luckily we showed up right before the huge 6:00 p.m crowd got there. Looks like we all had the same idea. One other person was there when we arrived and about 10, out the door, as we were leaving. It was just as sweet as the names of the cakes and just as expensive as the famous cupcakes from New York's Magnolia Bakery. So 14.00 dollars later we had ourselves 4 special cupcakes and one tiny one to hold someone over until dinner!! Wow...a bargain, right??!! But I must say, perhaps I've found my niche. Maybe that's what I need to open when we return to the states!! I love pink, I love polka dots (their store windows were stinkin' cute), I love baking, I love baking CUPCAKES, customers would usually be in a "chipper" mood...who isn't when buying fancy cakes, take home bags and wrappings were adorable (right up my alley) and I think I would have a helper for life!! DONE!! Jon...thoughts??!! Anyway, Ryan will receive the special one...you guess which one!! Then, as we were on our way home...never dull in Dubai...the craziest/coolest dressed up ladies and stilt walkers were headed down the street in honor of a huge shopping festival that is taking place in Dubai right now. See the stores aren't allowed to put things on sale at any given time. The government allows the stores to discount two times a year. One time being at the end of Jan. into Feb. for about three weeks and one time in August!! It just always amazes me what a big deal and the money & advertising that is spent to market the "DSF" or Dubai Shopping Festival. There is a HUGE firework display at the creek every night in honor of the event and millions of dirhams of give-a-ways at all the malls, not to mention Jaguars, Mercedes, and Range Rovers also being given away!! Yes, we live in "Disney Land" in the Middle East...and really are enjoying our "ride!!" I have a feeling this week is going to cost more than usual...crusin' Dubai is sure bring us HOURS O' FUN!!
