Today, Saturday, the Mrs. Gammy Bunny and Mrs. Auntie Jill Bunny came to our house! Jon has to work tomorrow so the bunny came this morning. Fayth LOVED searching for the traditional plastic eggs with "small prizes" in them. This is a family favorite and funny "feud" at the Evenson household. The first year I joined them for Easter, one plastic egg I opened had this little cute yellow puffy chick in it and thought it was something special...well the rest of them were cracking up outloud...and yelling, "You got the booby prize...you got the booby prize!" While Jon could "smell" the ones with two dollar bills in them! It was always a tradition and so much fun! Well, today, all the way in Dubai, Fayth got to carry out the tradition. She searched the apartment for eggs, filled by the Gammy bunny, and had a blast. They were filled with cutie erasers, ring bubbles, and rubber balls and the "mack daddy" one...Tinkerbell tattoos, of course!
Then, we hid her 3 baskets, and she continued to search. She found the Tinkerbell one first, then my favorite, the ballerina basket (great find gammy!) next, and Auntie Jill Bunny's bag basket last! It was so much fun watching her look for her baskets! Finally, we sat down to watch her open her baskets & eggs. Everything was TOO cute! She loved her Tinkerbell themed basket filled with a bathing suit, small doll, placemat & bowl, and so much more. She also loved the doll feeding set from auntie and two doll onesies. The cool thing is they fit her new "littlest" dollie she got for Christmas which is hurting for a new outfit or two!! All in all, it was a wonderful Easter morning. Tomorrow, on Easter, we will head to a BIG chocolate bunny Easter Extravaganza and then to our friend Alma's house for her 2nd birthday and Easter Egg hunt. I'll be sure to post a lot of photos.
**Just a little sidebar**
Since we live in a Muslim community, Easter is obviously NOT a big deal here. We were able to find HUGE chocolate bunnies & eggs at the local supermarkets and chocolate Cadberry treats but not much other than that. No baskets, no decorations, very few things here and there. Thank goodness for our families...they allowed for Fayth to have a great pre-Easter & decorated house and great Easter! We love you all!
