French Toast Bake

Thanks Ruthanne for the cut/paste help...here it is...and the photo was taken before it was baked!! It's delicious!! White thick bread, three layers deep about 15 slices. 8 eggs 3 cups milk ¼ cup granulated sugar ¾ teaspoon salt 1 tablespoon vanilla…I like more. Butter (enough to spread onto 15 slices) ½ teaspoon or more of ground cinnamon…I like more. ½ cup of brown sugar Grease 9 x 13 baking pan. Butter each slice of bread on one side very lightly. Arrange first layer flat in pan (may need to cut one in half to fully fit into pan. Sprinkle brown sugar over 1st layer. Repeat two more times. Beat eggs, milk, sugar, salt and vanilla in a large bowl. Pour over the bread in the pan. Bread will float up a bit. Sprinkle top layer with brown sugar and cinnamon. Cover with tinfoil and refregerate overnight or up to 36 hours. Place dish, uncovered in cold oven. Turn oven temperature to 350 degrees (325 degrees if glass dish) and bake about 50 minutes or until bread is puffy and light brown. Remove from oven and allow to set for 5 minutes. Serve with syrups or powdered sugar. Makes about 9 plus servings!!!
