"Bow-ture Bow-tique" made it's debut yesterday from noon to 9:00 pm. at Festival City Mall. We have become part of the ARTE in Dubai...an organization for crafts. The official start time was 2:00 but you needed to arrival early to "scope" out & set- up your table. Lauren and I were dropped off by Jon and picked our prime table location!!! In a matter of minutes we were set up ready for the sales to come pouring in. Well, didn't seem to work that way. We had a few here and there...discussed the price & re-evaluated...did a price adjustment...sold some more...added a cutie pink bow to Lauren's hair...some more sales came in...adjusted the price again...but nothing too great!!! Then it happened...the big KABOOM!!! It had to be around 6:00, dusk outside, and we had about 12 guests standing at our table...and BOOM...our ENTIRE TABLE FELL OVER.............soda dripping, people scurrying, bows flying..............and me.........I yelled out a big "OH, MY GOD"......and a scream and Lauren looked like a deer in headlights!!!!!!!!!! Well, this was just what our business needed..............it was omen................after this point our sales were pipping HOT in no time at all!!!!!!!!!!!! I didn't expect Lauren to stay all day but there was no way she was leaving now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! She was the sales lady and I was sewing and busting out bows left and right..............we laughed, giggled, and had a great time!!! It's a lot more fun when it gets exciting & you're making money!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Nerves were gone and "Bow-ture Bow-tique" was the happening table to be at!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I ran out of business cards, zip-lock baggies, got an order of 15 for a birthday party next week, sold a special order to match a ballerina outfit, and hopefully got our name on the Map!!!!!!!!!!!! Lauren is joining the business and is going to do headbands with detachable flowers & tutus. Together we hope to set-up monthly at this fair and school fairs & then perhaps things here and there!!!!!!!! I plan to contact Fayth's school next week to see if I can set-up shop there as well a day or two. I am going to pre-make some bows that will match the kids uniforms. Our office, in our apartment, is now bow "HELL" and Jon has lost his desk (he never sat at it anyway)!!!! I have more ribbon on order and a boatload of bows to make before May 7th. So, fun times and great sales............made for a perfectly wonderful day.................and a memorable one at that!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The little girl and her daddy, with the small korker bow, was my first sale!!
The empty boards and table is what we looked like at the end of the night!!
Flip-flops with korkers & interchangeable bows will be added to the table next month...stay tuned!!
