Robin is here and lovin' Dubai so far!! Dave's already Skyped with the girls and said hi!! Weather is great, sites are good, and gossip and catching up is GREAT!!! Fayth was a lucky little lady and received, from her "roomie", a Princess and the Frog DVD and matching Tiana doll, a jumprope and Hello Kitty Pez. She has played with it non-stop and loves it all!! Robin and Fayth even did a bit of jump roping. Tiana spent some time in "time-out" this evening as Fayth was teaching school to her "children."
Robin and I started our day having a mani & pedi at Lilypond...it was fabulous and LONG over do for me...(I'd post the before shot of my toes but you'd puke), then we headed to lunch at the Dubai Mall. We sat outside, on the promenade, and had a great italian lunch. After lunch we walked around the Dubai Mall and looked at all the sites. We plan to return on Monday and perhaps go ice skating...either that or just shopping!!
We headed to Alma's 3rd birthday party in the afternoon and that was great fun, too. Robin got to meet all my "Dubai friends" and the party was complete with pool time, great food, and adult beverages as well. It was at Alma's apartment building in the function room and was perfect with the pool right outside, not to mention, no clean-up for the parents of the party girl!! Nice gig!!
Evening rolled around and I made us all a nice super and then we both wanted to fall over. However; the night was young and we had reservations at THE ADDRESS hotel at "Neo's" the famous bar on the 64th floor. We take ALL our guests there because the view of the city is outstanding and Jon is great buddies with the security manager. We had the BEST little tall cocktail table in the whole place!! We drank, chatted, drank, chatted, and drank some more just like old times. At about 11:30 we headed to the promenade to watch the water show at ground level...however...it never came on again. Then, we walked to the Palace Hotel's, Thai restaruant, for late night drinks and more chatting. It sits on the water right in front of the Burj Khalifa and gives you the feeling of a "tropical vacation" complete with tee-kee torches and comfty cozy lounge chairs. At 1:00 am...we decided to call it a night. We walked home and crashed!!
It was such a fun first day!! More than anything, I love having my BFF, in Dubai, sharing my "home" and temporary lifestyle with her. It's fun for her to see the places and meet the people that I've talked so much about!!!
***The feet photos were taken under the influence!! That's the apple martinis talking!!***
