After a "kick our A**" and try to kill us workout...compliments of PJ...our free personal trainer...Kristen and I headed with coffee in hand, by taxi, down to the old part of Dubai for a Saturday market. Let me start by saying the day started out at about 90 degrees! Well, we couldn't exactly find the market I had in mind but we did hit all the fun "authentic shopping" of Dubai and had a blast doing it. We got to try on Abayas, negotiate with sales people, and see the old part of Dubai & the creek. We wound up buying great pashminas in various colors and beautiful wall hangings for our home. My "designer friend" (Kristen is a designer) told me when we moved here I needed a wall hanging. I imagined a "woolen rug" and never understood what she meant. Well, we are BOTH the proud new owners of great pieces for our home. I plan to hang ours here in our bedroom and then someday in my future home "scrapbooking/office." We picked up a few souvenirs for her family and Gilbert, too! It was so much fun! After the old souk, we had our taxi man drop us off at the Dubai Mall. We were headed straight towards my favorite "shoe store/clothing store" New Look, to get Kristen a new pair of digs for the afternoon World Cup!! Wouldn't ya know it...yet another pair that drove Patrick, her hubby, WILD!! It felt so good to hang with just Kristen and have some much needed girl time!! It was a great morning!!
